Dale has been involved in the textile arts for over 40 years, exhibiting art quilts since 1992 in Canada and USA. Interconnections with the natural world is a constant source of inspiration. Many ideas are generated in workshops and study group sessions while experimenting with surface design techniques including dyeing, painting, stitching, mono printing and photo transfer. Recent experiments include using apps on the iPad to alter digital images to create a new story.
StatementInspiration for my Textile Art comes from walks through forest and along the shore observing and recording the patterns, colours & textures that surround us. These walks can be very meditative and bring me a sense of calm, often photographing the small details and just enjoying the moment. Brings me in touch with the earth and all it's gifts.
