I lived for twenty five years in the north and explored weaving and glass mosaic while there- after moving to Vancouver Island I became very interested in fibre arts - I delight in experimentation and particularly love playing with colour.
After spending many years exploring weaving, stained glass, glass mosaic and doll making, I have discovered my true passion in working with fabric, fibres and paint. It is especially interesting to experiment with three dimensional creations. Often, besides using varied fabrics (anything from velvet to brocade), I incorporate wire in my projects. I like my pieces to evolve and I find pleasure in not being certain of what the end result will be.I am fascinated with colours and their interactions with other colours. It’s enjoyable being surprised with the never-ending combinations and I embrace the opportunity to experiment.Being creative is not only rewarding and therapeutic but also a way to establish a connection with fellow artists.
